ProfessionalismScenario

The application on the screen

You work part time at a real estate agency.

Your close friend Bronte has applied to rent a flat that your agency manages. This morning you saw in the office system that the owner has chosen another applicant, but the agent will not ring anyone until Monday. Bronte has just told you she has a second offer, on a flat she likes less, and must say yes or no by five o'clock today. She plans to turn it down while she waits to hear from your agency.

  1. Q1.Bronte is about to send her reply. What, if anything, do you say to her?
  2. Q2.Suppose Bronte turns the other flat down anyway. On Monday she hears she has missed out on both, and asks you whether you knew. What do you say?

Problem solvingScenario

Ninety minutes to curtain

You are stage manager for your university revue.

Opening night starts in ninety minutes and every seat is sold. Your lead, Zara, has lost most of her voice to a cold and can only whisper. Her understudy, Tariq, knows the part but forgot half his lines at the only rehearsal he has done. The director, Matilda, wants to cancel and refund everyone, which would wipe out the money the society needs for next year. Zara insists she can push through with a microphone.

  1. Q1.Matilda asks what you think the cast should do. What do you recommend, and why?
  2. Q2.Imagine Tariq goes on. At interval he comes off shaking and begs you to let Zara do the second half, though she can barely speak. What would you say to him?

How it works

  1. 01

    Read and type

Read the scenario, then answer both questions. The clock runs for 3:30 from your first keystroke, and keeps counting past it rather than locking you out.

  2. 02

    Hand it in

The AI practice grader reads your answer, usually within a minute. Marking is free with an account.

  3. 03

    Compare

You get a practice score out of 100, a band, notes on your own sentences, and a model answer for each question with a few lines on why it works.

Why a question a day

A strong Casper answer names the tension, chooses an action and says why, all inside the clock. That is a habit more than a piece of knowledge, and you only get it by doing it often.

One scenario takes about five minutes to answer and read back. Done daily, it keeps the pattern fresh without taking over your week, and the model answer shows you another way in each time.

Keep a streak going

Answer on consecutive days and your streak grows. Miss a day and it starts again from one. There are milestones at 3, 7, 14, 30, 60 and 100 days, and your longest run is kept.

Questions about the daily challenge

Is the daily challenge free?

Yes. Reading the question and typing an answer needs nothing. Having it marked needs a free account with a verified email address, and costs nothing.

Is this an official Casper question?

No. This is an independent practice tool with no connection to Acuity Insights, which runs the official test. The questions are written for practice in the same style, and the score is a practice score, not an official one.

What do I get back?

A practice score out of 100 and a practice band, from Developing to Exceptional. Then a summary of how your answer reads, what worked and what to work on, notes on your own sentences, and a model answer for each question with a few lines on why it works.

What happens when the clock runs out?

It keeps counting as overtime rather than locking you out, and the time you took is shown with your result. On the real test the screen moves on at 3:30, so aim to finish inside it.

When does the next question arrive?

At midnight where you are. Everyone gets the same question on the same date, and your streak counts the days in your own calendar.
